Flamingoettes fighting fit for F.I.S.H.
"The Lazy Flamingoettes"
A group dubbed “The Lazy Flamingoettes” — Tiffany Fortunato, Debbie Fleishans, Donnetta Beck, Laura Laukaitis and Mesha Whitney — are currently in training for the Second Annual 10K Race For F.I.S.H., which will take place on Saturday, Oct. 16 starting at 7:30 a.m. at the Sanibel Community House.
The race, in conjunction with the Fort Myers Track Club, is expected to attract more than 500 runners this year. Many businesses and service clubs on the island are taking part in the race, both as competitors and volunteers. To inquire about becoming a sponsor, volunteer or a race participant, call 472-0404.
