Arm wrestling championships coming to Fort Myers
Southwest Florida Armsport Club has announced that Ron Dao’s Pizzeria & Sports Bar will host the second “Grip & Hit” Arm Wrestling Championships at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 21.
The event features some of the area’s and Florida’s top arm wrestlers, both male and female, competing for a chance to be crowned SWF’s “Strongest Arm.”
Contestants should weigh-in and register early — Friday evening from 7 to 9 p.m., or from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday.
Men will be divided into 15 weight divisions, novice and pro categories, including two left-handed classes and one open class for women.
Entry fee for amateurs and pros is $25. A $1,000 cash prize will be given to the overall winner. Novice first, second and third place finishers receive custom engraved Olympic-sized medallions.
