SCCF announces 18th Annual Tennis Tournament winners
The Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation (SCCF) held its 18th Annual Tennis Tournament at The Dunes Golf & Tennis Club on March 13-14, raising more than $22,500 for the Foundation’s General Operating Fund.
This year’s Presenting Sponsor was the Sanibel-Captiva Trust Company. A cocktail party kicked off the event on Friday evening, with over 75 players and sponsors attending with hors d’oeuvres by Leslie Adams Catering.
The winners were:
Men’s 3.5 – John Gersack, Phil Howard, Dick Schneider and Alan Wortzel
Ladies 3.5: Jan Grier, Joyce Verdi, Bridget Funk and Marjorie Pacheco

The winner of the Luc Century Raffle gift was Warren Schwab, who got to go home with a gorgeous bowl with deeply etched Loggerhead Sea Turtles on it.
Silent Auction Donations were received from Myra Roberts, who designed a giclee print depicting her interpretation of SCCF over the years; Marcia Feeney of Interiors by Decorating Den donated a magnificent silk flower arrangement; Lily & Company Jewelers donated three gorgeous pieces of Marahlogo jewelry including a necklace, earrings and ring; Catering by Leslie Adams donated a five-course catered dinner for four; The St. Francis Inn Bed & Breakfast in St. Augustine donated a two-night stay; The Hammerheads hand-built a high top table with a Kym Nader hand-painted Loggerhead Turtle on it; Joe and Joyce Pignotti donated a four-night stay at the Sundial Beach Resort; and the Estate of Theodore Cross donated a first edition copy of his magnificent book, Waterbirds.

SCCF is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to conservation of coastal habitats and aquatic resources on Sanibel and Captiva and in the surrounding watershed through, Environmental Education, Marine Research, Natural Resource Policy, Native Plant Nursery, Sea Turtle Conservation and Wildlife Habitat Management.
