Rams and Panthers still undefeated in Flag Football League
This year, 120 kids are playing Friday Night Football under the lights at the school fields. If your favorite team did not advance to the Super Bowl, please come out this Friday and cheer on the youngsters. The league is broken down into three divisions of four co-ed teams.
In the 6 8 year old division, the Steelers maintained their first place standings with a 24-6 win over the Chargers. Will Strange ran for a long touchdown for the Chargers but Steelers Tanner and Liam Deal both scored touchdowns and Cameron Ashton threw a touchdown pass to win the game.
Zachary Farst and Megan Brown tried to pull their Dolphins to second place by each scoring a touchdown over the Giants, but it was Sean Shackford scoring the winning interception touchdown to keep the Giants tied for second with a 20-14 win.
In the 9 11 year old division, the Raiders Jacob Lemmon tried to end the first place Rams winning streak by catching a long pass for a touchdown and running another in but the Rams Grant Reel scored the first touchdown, Pierce Hobbs caught the game tying touchdown and Olin Peck ran in the extra point for a 13-12 win.
In the 12 14 year old division, the Panthers remained undefeated. Josh Olson, Brodie Burns and Dylan Kropp all had long touchdown plays while Katherine Strange, Taylor Strange and Madison Weigel played great defense to hold the Titans to a 26-13 victory.
The Bengals finally got their act together and stopped the Cowboys, 24-13. Mark Thomas and Laura Chenciner both scored touchdowns and the “Killer B” defense stifled the “Bill Belichek Wannabe” mastermind coach, Mike Stufano.
There is one more regular season game on Jan. 29 and then the playoff games and trophy ceremonies take place on Friday, Feb. 5. You won’t want to miss the games!
