Mason leads One Ball Wonders into second

2 min read

Oh what a difference a week makes!

One Ball Wonders shooter Joe Mason won the last four matches in his team’s match against Sanibel Caf and led the Wonders to its 10-6 win. His efforts helped the Wonders move into second place in the Sanibel 8-Ball Pool League standings.

Last week, Mason played second and managed only one win out of four games. This week, he brought his gal pal – Josey – and prevailed upon Wonders’ Captain Kip Buntrock to put him in the pressure-packed anchor position. The result: four big wins over Joel Lohns, a top player imported by the Sanibel Caf for the match. Josey was suitably impressed.

In other league action, Doug Gentry held up his faltering Bunt’s Ball Busters teammates and posted a perfect 4-0 score. His efforts enabled the Ball Busters to squeak out a 10-6 win over the Fresh Legion Crew and pushed the Crew into third place in the league with only five weeks remaining.

Carmen Senese went undefeated for the Legion Crew and won the last two games for his team over Ball Busters Captain Bob Buntrock. Senese just arrived from Texas to once again enjoy a Sanibel vacation with his wife. Last year, Senese placed second in the league’s year-end singles tournament.
