The Beachview Rec’N’Crew scalped the Aztec Plumbing Warriors last Wednesday with a stunning seventh inning comeback.

Entering the bottom of the final inning, Beachview trailed by 12. Captain Luke Sweeney rallied his team on to score 13 runs that inning, seven of which were when the team already had two outs. Crew teammate Ron Rosen commented, “The Rec’N’Ball is mightier than the tomahawk.” The final score was 23-22.

In the other games of the week, the sizzling hot Great White Grill defeated Bailey’s Baggers, 25-7, to swim their way up to second place in the league. Bailey’s captain Deb Gleason said, “Our harpoons were rusty. We couldn’t penetrate the Great White’s leathery defense.”

And finally, the Sanctuary Island Electric was so shockingly frightful that All Island Glass couldn’t field enough players to make the game count. Sanctuary won via forfeit. “I would like to thank my parents who’ve always supported me,” said Electric captain Bryan Hayes after his team’s stellar victory. “and my school teachers, my wife and children, my fellow employees, my dentist”
