Fencing classes offered at the SW Florida Fencing Academy

1 min read

New class session for beginning fencers will start on Friday, Aug. 7 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the academy’s fencing facility at 4210 Fowler Street in Fort Myers.

Class space is limited, so advanced registration is required. The club is open six days a week, so there is ample opportunity to fence once you have mastered the basics. Our ongoing program provides classes for intermediate and advanced level fencers as well as the beginner.

No previous experience is necessary. Classes are open to all ages eight and up, and parents are encouraged to participate with their kids. Fencing provides a great physical and mental workout. It’s a fun way to exercise without the boredom of more conventional methods.

The SW Florida Fencing Academy (formerly the Fort Myers Fencing Club) has been in existence for over 30 years and produced some of Florida’s top fencers.

“While we teach at a level to produce excellence in competition, we also encourage anyone who simply wants to fence for recreation,” a press release stated.

To register in advance, call 239-939-1338. More information is available at the club’s Web site at www.swfloridafencing.org.
