Catch-and-release for a critical cause
Sign up now for the Seventh Annual David Lee Root, Jr. Memorial Fishing Tournament, a catch-and-release sporting event for a good cause.
Proceeds from this angling event benefit the Trauma Center at Lee Memorial Hospital. The Root Family lost their son, David, to an automobile accident. But thanks to the Trauma Unit, their son, Dustin, was saved.
Participants can enjoy more than just big fish at D&D Matlacha Bait & Tackle… there’s a barbeque, too. The barbeque follows the weigh in, along with prizes, a 50/50 and chance drawings.
The entry fee is $50 per person; minimum two anglers per boat. The fee includes a Captain’s bag, barbeque, ramp access and parking.
All proceeds will benefit the Trauma Center at Lee Memorial Hospital to aid with the treatment of the severely injured and to provide them the best chance for recovery. Last year’s event netted more than $13,000 for the Trauma Center.
