Owner of Sanibel Wellness has a sporting side
As the owner of Sanibel Wellness, a yoga teacher and a massage therapist, Brian Healy considers his hands his most precious tools.
However, he takes extra precautions to protect those hands when he competes in automobile races across the Southeast United States.
Healy recently raced his Mazda Spec Miata at Homestead Miami Speedway over Memorial Day weekend during a National Auto Sport Association event. Despite heavy rain and a blown tire, Healy’s top speed of 115 mph and an average speed of 69 mph earned him a second place trophy.
He was back on the island by Tuesday morning, teaching yoga, and ready to provide massages and treatments for his clients.
Healy earned his national competition license two years ago and will also race June 20-21 at Sebring International Raceway and Aug. 8-9 at Daytona International Speedway.
Sanibel Wellness was founded in 1992 by Healy. Their talented healers offer natural healing and pain relief to help lead a less stressful, more vibrant and happier life. Sanibel Wellness services include therapeutic massage, aromatherapy massage, hot stone massage, Reiki treatment, personal and group yoga as well as meditation. Appointments are accepted online, in-person or by phone, and may be scheduled at the 2402 Palm Ridge Road location, in-home or at a resort.
