Rec Center offering lifeguard, CPR/AED courses
The City of Sanibel announced several upcoming certification courses being offered at the Sanibel Recreation Center:
American Red Cross Lifeguard Course
$180 for members, $225 for non-members
All materials included
Friday, May 15 from 4 to 8 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday, May 16 and 17 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
A three-day course in which participants will be trained as Professional Rescuers in lifeguarding, first aid as well as adult, child and infant CPR/AED use. Registrants will receive a class textbook and itinerary for study. Must be at least 15 years old to register. Call the Rec Center at 472-0345 for swimming ability prerequisites. Class size is limited; register now!
American Red Cross CPR/AED Recertification Course (for the professional rescuer)
$50 for members, $60 for non-members
Sunday, May 24 from Noon to 4 p.m.
Completion of this course will renew American Red Cross CPR/AED certification for the Professional Rescuer for one year. Participants should have fully reviewed all skills and be prepared to demonstrate skills without prompting and complete a written exam with a score of 80 percent or higher. Please bring your CPR mask to the challenge course. Class size is limited; register now!
