The Bonita Bay Club will be hosting its Second Annual Celebrity Tennis Day to benefit Barbara’s Friends – The Children’s Hospital Cancer Fund, on Saturday, March 7.

A pre-event celebration will take place on Friday, March 6 featuring a sunset BBQ with tennis pros and sponsors. The main event itinerary on March 7 will include breakfast with the pros, skills clinics, lunch, Pro-Am, exhibition and an evening cocktail party.

Professional tennis players scheduled to appear at the fundraising event are Fred Stolle, Dick Stockton, Paul Goldstein, Don Johnson, Tim Mayotte (appearing courtesy of Head), JoAnne Russell, Jimmy Arias, Doug Flach, Dave McPherson, Mike Perfores, Eddie Dibbs, Colin Dibley, Johan Kriek, Kathy Renaldi and Brenda Schultz McCarthy.

Sponsors of the event are Premier Properties of Southwest Florida, Inc. and The High Rises at Bonita Bay, The Bonita Bay Group, Key Private Bank, Trianon Hotels of Bonita Bay and Comcast of Southwest Florida. Additionally, 42 individuals thus far have provided funding as seed sponsors to support the charity and secure a space in the Pro-Am.

“The Bonita Bay Club is like family and we are pleased to bring our family together to help the children of our community who are suffering with cancer and other illnesses,” said event co-chair Ken Mack.

“We were touched to learn about Barbara’s Friends and invite the community to join us in supporting this great cause,” added event co-chair Pat Valva.

The event committee has set a goal of raising enough funds to help Barbara’s Friends and The Children’s Hospital expand the Pediatric Pharmacy that was built when the Children’s Hospital had 60 inpatient beds. The Children’s Hospital now has 107 functional beds and philanthropic funds are necessary to support and sustain this growth.

Tennis players of all skill levels can sign up for the clinic ($250) and spectators can enjoy watching the Pro-Am Exhibition ($50), join for lunch ($25), or attend the evening cocktail party and auction ($150). All net proceeds will benefit Barbara’s Friends – The Children’s Hospital Cancer Fund and The Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida’s pediatric pharmacy.
