To the editor:

On Sunday morning Dec. 3, we were heading east on Periwinkle. A bunch of palm fronds probably fallen from a truck was blocking traffic in the westbound lane.

Traffic was backed up in both directions as far as we could see. I pulled over, got out and began clearing the roadway of the palm fronds.

I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the one person who also got out of a car to help. I would also thank whoever called the appropriate city office; as we were nearing completion, official help arrived. I thought it remarkable that no one else got out of a car to help.
