Common courtesy lacking on Shared Use Path

To the editor:

A typical morning’s walk on Sanibel’s Shared Use Path: “racing” bicyclists buzzing past, cruisers, sometimes in columns, often two abreast, suddenly alongside, all with no warning.

Then, close to home – a chirpy “on your left” voiced by two little girls, dressed in pink, one after the other, followed by their dad.

Thank you, young ladies (and your parent), for your sense of public safety and common courtesy that seems to be lacking in so many older cyclists who should know better.
