PAWS thanks the community for its help
As 2013 approaches it’s end, the Protection of Animal Welfare Society, Inc.(PAWS), would like to thank everyone who generously donated financially and in other ways, to help support the island’s lost, abandoned, injured and sick animals during the past year. Without help from the community, PAWS would not be able to continue what it does: Provide temporary homes, medical attention, and keep animals out of shelters that usually only have space available for a limited number of days.
This past year on Sanibel and Captiva, PAWS has provided for many animals, some for a very long period of time. Sometimes it takes awhile, but we always find our animals the very best forever home. If for any reason the adoption does not work out, we take the animal back until we get it right.
We’d like to take this opportunity to thank the folks at our local newspapers for donating space in their newspapers to include pictures and stories of our animals. This is the primary way we are able to locate people for our animals and place needy animals in new and loving homes.
Thank you to all of our island businesses that keep our PAWS jars on their counters, and to businesses like Sanibel Holiday who have donated to us from their “jeans” pool.
Special thanks to the Center 4 Life that hosted the Third Annual Justine Smith Memorial Bridge Tournament and again donated the proceeds to PAWS, which was one of her favorite charities.
If you’re considering year end contributions to charitable organizations, please think of our animals and consider donating to PAWS. We are a non-profit organization and all contributions are completely tax deductible. Please make checks out to PAWS and forward to P.O. Box 855, Sanibel, Florida 33957. Let’s continue to keep our animals out of crowded Lee County animal shelters.
PAWS Thanks you so very much for your continued support.
