Vote for David Bath

2 min read

To the editor,

David Bath, my neighbor and friend, is running for Sanibel City Council. Sanibel needs David’s skills and experience and his deep commitment to our island.

I love our island and its community. I seldom get involved in politics on the island for I believe it is best to respect all views and opinions when we live in such a small and unique place. But Sanibel needs special attention right now as it works to preserve what is precious about the island in the face of severe economic and development challenges. We need the most experienced and responsible City Council we can elect on March 3. That is why I will be voting for David Bath. Please join me.

David Bath has a decade of proven commitment to our community through his work with a number of volunteer organizations (C.R.O.W., SCCF, F.I.S.H., COTI) and he is a long-time volunteer leader at Saint Michael’s and All Angels Church. He was a senior executive for Proctor and Gamble for years, working in several countries, giving him deep management and fiscal experience – just what Sanibel needs.

Most of all, we need thoughtful, moderate, responsible members on our council, members who are able to listen to all points of view, add their own reasoned opinions, leave their personal agendas at home, help to bridge our differences and offer balanced solutions to difficult problems, solutions that will protect and enhance the interests of all islanders. David Bath will be that kind of city councilor.

Please vote for David Bath on March 3. Our special island needs his leadership.
