Ready, willing and very able

To the editor,

I don’t know why my Island friend of 20 years, Marty Harrity, wants to run for Sanibel City Council again. To me, City Council is an unpaid, thankless job, listening to endless arguments often regarding tedious issues. My guess is that Marty Harrity cares passionately about our lovely Island.

I also suppose he needs something constructive to do with his boundless energy and tireless enthusiasm other than coach island youth and run a successful business.

I remember Marty Harrity’s steady leadership as Mayor during Hurricane Charley and I am grateful that he is ready, willing and very able to lead again.
