Politics on Sanibel beach?
To the editor:
On Oct. 25, I went to Bowman’s Beach for my morning run. To me, a beach is a sacred place, where I go to most mornings to calm my mind.
When I arrived, I saw a large sign right in the center by the water, first thing there. Assuming it might be a rip current warning or something safety related, I walked up to it.
It was a large banner saying “Trump Nation,” attached to an American flag. Really?!!!
What an uncalming experience for me!
I remember several years ago my yoga teacher saying she was not allowed to teach yoga at the beach. So should political rallies be allowed?
If so, perhaps we could also allow a yoga class!
