Jane J. Harrison
Jane J. Harrison, longtime resident of Sanibel Island, Fla., passed away on Saturday, April 12 at the age of 87.
At the time of death she was residing at the Lodge at Cypress Cove in Fort Myers, Fla. Jane had suffered for many years with Parkinson’s Disease.
She was born Martha Jane Jones, in Upper Darby, Penn., in 1926. She attended the University of Pennsylvania where she met her future husband, William Harrison. They were married June 2, 1948. They resided in New Jersey and Connecticut while working and raising their children, before retiring to Sanibel Island.
Jane was a lifelong animal lover devoted to her many pets. She was a dedicated volunteer for the Clinic for Rehabilitation of Wildlife (CROW) on Sanibel Island, an active member of the Sanibel Congregational Church, and an avid golfer.
She is survived by her three children and their spouses, eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Her beloved husband predeceased her by three months.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 16th at 10:30 at the Sanibel Congregational United Church of Christ. Memorial donations may be made to CROW at P.O.
