Thomas J. Wickesberg
Thomas J. Wickesberg, 62, Fort Myers, died unexpectedly on Sunday, Aug. 5, 2012. Tommy was born on June 22, 1950, in Sheboygan, Wisc., son to the late Warren and Elizabeth (Meer) Wickesberg. Tommy lived in the Ozaukee County area, working in the family owned restaurants, along with other jobs.
For the past 31 years Tommy lived in Fort Myers, Sanibel and Captivia islands were he had many friends. Tommy worked in restaurants, fish markets, construction, and was also a proud volunteer of the Captivia Fire Department.
For the past 14 years he lived on and managed Chuck and Ann Bruning’s property and managed several other properties on Captiva.
Tommy was a Wisconsinite at heart and loved the Packers, Brewers, Badgers, along with watching The Three Stoogies and old movies. Tommy had a passion for cooking too much food and would share with his visitors, neighbors and friends. Along with his humor and radiant, contagious smile, he was a caring, helpful person and always gave you time out of his day.
He is survived by his three brothers, Richard (Linda), Shiocton; David (Debbie), Saukville and James (Sally), Shiocton. He further survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and a special friend Mary Ellen Charles Backes and many other friends.
He was preoceeded in death by his parents.
If you ever needed a helping hand, Tom gave you “both” hands.
Tom was loved by everyone and will be missed dearly.
A celebration of Tommy’s life will be held at the River Rail Banquet Hall (N5549 State Highway 76, Shiocton) on Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012, from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m.
