James Bone

James Bone passed away on April 2, 2011 in Sarasota, Fla. at the age of 94. Jim was born in Columbus, Ohio to Hugh McCauley Bone and Jane Huntington Bone.

Jim graduated from Ohio State University in 1939 where he was a proud member of the Beta Theta Phi fraternity. He married Anne Minneman in 1941. Jim served as a Lieutenant in the US Navy during World War II, in the South Pacific.

In 1946, Jim and Anne settled in Granville, Ohio with their daughter Diane and Jim established The James Store. Jim was active in the Granville community.

He was predeceased by his wife, Anne, and is survived by his daughter, Diane Foubert and her husband, David; three grandchildren, James Ridgeway, Peter Ridgeway and Emily Foubert; and two great grandchildren.

Jim married Jane Murphy of Sanibel in 1990. He is survived by his loving wife, Jane, and her three daughters, Lesley, Linden and Lisa, and their families.

A Celebration of Life was held in Sarasota. There will be a service of burial at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Granville, Ohio on April 9.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Jim’s memory may be made to St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church on Sanibel or the Hospice of choice.
