Carolyn Fisher

Carolyn Ann Fisher, long-time resident of Sanibel Island, passed peacefully on the evening of June 11, 2009. She was 66.

She was the beloved wife of Dr. Robert H. Fisher, cherished mother of Catherine C. Fisher of Wells, Maine and Holly E. Fisher-Bornarth of New Bern, N.C.; dear sister of Barbara Pike of Mt. Pleasant, S.C. and the loving grandmother of Emily, Katie and Trevor.

Carolyn attended Northville Central High School in Northville, N.Y. and Hartwick College in Oneonta, N.Y. She was office manager of Island Chiropractic Center for 20 years, where she worked side-by-side with her husband, Dr. Robert Fisher.

She enjoyed gardening, flower arranging, poetry, music (she was an accomplished pianist) and had an intense love of literature. She and her husband of 45 years have enjoyed living on Sanibel Island for 22 years.

Carolyn always had kind words and a loving smile to share. She was deeply passionate about protecting our environment and caring for those in need. Anyone wishing to make a charitable contribution in her honor may do so at the Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation, C.R.O.W., PURRE or F.I.S.H. These were Carolyn’s favorite island organizations.
