Florence Jones
Florence (Flo Baby) Eversole Jones, a DeLand, Fla. resident since the early 1960’s, passed away peacefully at home on May 9. She was 79.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Anna Mae Eversole; sister, Pauline Pearcy; husband, Edward L. Jones Jr.; son, Kenneth B. Tressler and beloved granddaughter, Tiffani Marvin. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Christel (Scott) Marvin; grandchildren, Scott and Natali Marvin; sisters, Loretta Stevenson-Long and Alberta Smith; several nieces, one nephew and many, many good friends.
Florence retired in 1992 after more than 27 years with Sherwood Medical in DeLand. She belonged to many clubs and organizations, including the Order of Eastern Star in Dayton -Victory No. 594 for more than 56 years, the Ladies Oriental Shrine – Bara Court No. 15, AmVets Auxillary #0013 in DeLand, American Legion Auxillary #123, VFW Auxillary No. 2380, the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxillary No. 99999 in Grove City, Ohio and No. 3959 in DeLand.
In addition, Florence was a frequent visitor to Sanibel, where she owned a time-share and made many friends over the years.
A service celebrating her life was held on May 16. Interment will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to the Shriner’s Crippled Children’s Hospital in Tampa, Fla. or to any Veteran’s organization.
