Home show returns to Lee Civic Center

2 min read

The biggest homes show in Southwest Florida returns to the Lee Civic Center this weekend, with a record number of exhibitors and patrons expected to attend.

The Fort Myers Home and Remodeling Show happens Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with more than 150 vendors selling and promoting everything from kitchen and bath remodeling, garage door openers and storm shutters, to game room accessories, facial cream, chandeliers and much more.

“We have different exhibitors who have never done the show before. We’re going to have a lot of nice outdoor vendors,” said Jackielou, the show’s promoter. “We have 130 vendors right now and we get about 20 or 30 sign up a week before. We’ll have a good crowd.”

FEMA will also be there to help those still affected by Hurricane Irma. Local students will demonstrate the building of their “DAWG HAUS” (Disaster Avoidance with Good Home Attenuating Unioniza-tion System) by using donated lumber and other materials from a local home improvement store.

Visitors can also register to win a three-day cruise from Jill Venturi of Cruise One.

The September show had a good showing, though the Brett Kava-naugh hearings in Washington and election ads kept numbers down.

With the snowbirds back in full force and an aggressive advertising campaign that will include credited ads lost from the televised governmental news this time around, Jackielou said she expects record numbers this time around with vendors selling floors and doors and so much more.

Show times are Friday, Jan. 4, from noon to 5 p.m.,; Saturday, Jan. 5, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday, Jan. 6, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Tickets ($6 for adults, with children free) and are available at the door, with free parking.

The Lee County Civic Center is at 11831 Bayshore Road in North Fort Myers.
