CCPD to conduct ‘Holiday Heroes Food Drive’

1 min read

The Cape Coral Police Department is partnering with Walmart for the seventh year in a row to host the “Holiday Heroes Food Drive,” benefitting the Harry Chapin Food Bank of Southwest Florida. This year’s “Holiday Heroes Food Drive” will be held Tuesday, Nov. 13, from 1-8 p.m., to ensure that the food bank receives plenty of food donations prior to Thanksgiving.

There are many Cape Coral residents that rely on the Harry Chapin Food Bank for food every day, and many of those who receive help from the Harry Chapin Food Bank in Cape Coral are families with children.

Last year, the Cape Coral Police Department collected nearly 8 tons of food. The department’s goal this year is to match that total this year or even beat it.

Members of the Cape Coral Police Department will be at the Walmart Supercenter located at 1619 Del Prado Blvd., as well as the Walmart Neighborhood Market located at 505 S.W. Pine Island Road. Members of the community can meet and greet with those who serve and protect the city.
