Beacon of HOPE on Pine Island to present the 9th annual Holiday House of HOPE
Final preparations are under way for the Beacon of HOPE’s annual Holiday House. Santa arrives Thursday evening, Nov. 29, at the Tarpon Lodge dock at 5:15 by boat in true island fashion.
“One thing we want to emphasize this year are the table top trees,” Beacon of HOPE Board member Elsie Stearns said. “Come see the Holiday Tree Auction, hand painted by members of the Pine Island Art Association and the Table Top Trees sponsored by local businesses that will be auctioned off to the highest bidder.”
Thursday night is Family Night featuring a family friendly menu as well as crafts, face painting and “Storytime” with the Pine island Library. The Pine Island Elementary Choir will perform, plus there will be hula hoop lessons and pictures with Santa for the children.
Table Top Trees will be created by Towboat US, Bobby Holloway Memorial, Pine Island Elementary, Four Winds Marina, Pine Island Pizza, Nauti Tiki, Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre, Matlacha Wellness, Stearns Custom Builders, Priority Payments of SW Florida,Moreau Financial Management, EL Pollo, Kinetic Touch Massage & Wellness, Olde Fish-house Restaurant, Pine Island Pool.
“Once again we will auction off our ‘artists tree,'” Stearns said. “This tree gives us an opportunity to show off the incredible talent of our local artists. The tree has over 200 handpainted ornaments from our local artists. The Matlacha Art Association provided all the materials and decorated the balls. This is a ‘home-grown’ one-of-a-kind tree that was very successful last year and will once again be auctioned off!”
The event will continue through Friday, Nov. 30, and Saturday, Dec. 1, from 5:30-9:30 p.m.
