Shell Factory to host special Father’s Day event
Dads are in for some special — and free — Father’s Day treats at the Shell Factory this Sunday.
The Day of the Dad Cookout, which has grown in popularity over the years, will feature free admission for all fathers at the Nature Park and so much more, including a free first ride on the zip line for dads only.
The Soaring Eagle Zip Line Challenge, where a $10 first ride will bring you a second ride for $5, is still looking for its 100,000th rider and, if that milestone has not already zipped by, there are lots of potential prizes.
Ride No. 100,000 will earn a free family fun pass for four to the Nature Park, mini golf, water wars and bumper boats, 10 $5 arcade cards, and a package from Hunt’s Pizza, featuring two loaded pizzas, two pitchers of beer, two glasses of wine and four soft drinks.
This Father’s Day, the whole family also is invited to Scallywags mini-golf to play a round for free and there will be a family fun packages available as well.
Meanwhile, the cookout is actually a cook-in at Captains Fishbones from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. with a special menu offering all of dad’s favorites, including burgers and dogs.
There also will be entertainment with Paul & Quinten from 1 to 4 p.m.
