ClamJam seafood & music festival set for this weekend
The ClamJam of Southwest Florida Seafood & Music Festival, a two-day event featuring local seafood, live entertainment and much more, will be held at the German American Social Club this weekend, Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
“ClamJam of Southwest Florida Seafood & Music Festival will feature over 90 craft vendors and five or six special food vendors with fresh local seafood,” organizer Pat Burman said. “Locally harvested clams and shellfish, and other seafood dishes will be offered as well.”
The event will feature professionally made clam chowders and specialty dishes with clams.
“People can either eat them here or take them home,” Burman said. “The seafood for ClamJam is extensive.”
Seafood vendors include Mobile Seafood from Olde Fish House, offering such treats as fish tacos, crab bisque, baked brie bombs, blackened wild Alaskan salmon, fish & chips, Corona beer battered cod, crab cakes, lobster vales made from Florida crab and lobster, conch ceviche’, salmon poke and smoked fish.
“Other great foods available are original Latin dishes, such as shrimp empanadas, stuffed arepas, shrimp salad and alcapurrias,” Burman said. “There will also be lots of American dishes, including hamburgers, hot dogs, pulled pork, barbecue chicken and ribs and Jonesz’s Famous BBQ is back.”
Arts and craft vendors will showcase homemade aluminum sculptures of marine wildlife, homemade cheeseboards, cedar benches, wine and beer caddies and pieces of driftwood and reclaimed woods. There will be Caribbean cooking magic and spices from Pine Island. Wall hangings, crustacean taxidermy, home dcor, bug jewelry, jewelry cleaners, resort wear, nautical fashions, beach bags, flip flops, totes, tank tops, cigars, and health products will also be showcased.

The two-day event will feature entertainment by Bluegrass Central, The 24 Carat, Brother Love Three, Jason Bonham and Chasing Dallas.
“We will also have fishing and boating seminars by Capt. Terry Fisher from Fish Face Charters,” Burman said.
ClamJam is a family-friendly event with children’s activities, including rock climbing, face painting, bounce houses and rides. Youngsters can also ride the train throughout the park.
