Cape Realtor awarded top national honor

2 min read

Cape Coral resident and Realtor Linda Biondi has been a part of the community since moving here from New Jersey in 1992.

“I moved down, got my drivers license, got my real estate license, and I’ve been doing it ever since,” she laughed. Over the years, she’s been dedicated to volunteering for several local causes and charities. Never seeking accolades, she recently received just that, as the national Womens Council of Realtors named Biondi as their 2016 Humanitarian of the Year.

“So many of us to do so many good things – I was very honored and very humbled when they surprised me with the announcement last week during our Christmas luncheon,” Biondi said. “I don’t do things for accolades. I do things to help, so receiving this award, I’m just so humbled.”

Biondi certainly does her part to help the community any way she can. She does a lot of charity work with the American Cancer Society, and very involved with the local chapter of its Relay for Life team, Team Friends.

“The American Cancer Society and its Relay for Life is very important to me. My father, cousins, other family members, have all passed from it. It’s an important charity to help,” Biondi, a 10-year survivor, said.

The local humanitarian was also a volunteer with the Cape Coral chapter of the Sons of Italy, organizing several large feasts and gatherings throughout the year, and happy to help host the upcoming inaugural Celebrate Cape Coral Parade, an evening affair, in the South Cape March 4.

One of her latest endeavors has been with the Cape Coral Animal Shelter, a slowly-but-surely-coming-along project that so far has the land established, now just needs more fund-raising to build the facility.

“You can see us at the South Cape Farmer’s Market every weekend, and we’re planning two upcoming fund-raisers for the building of the facility: one at the end of January, the other March 11,” Biondi said. “Every dollar counts.”

Biondi plans to continue her efforts for the community, as well as continue her real estate adventures with Raso Realty. Currently, there are approximately 120 members in the Cape Coral network of the Womens Council of Realtors, one of the larger chapters.
