Fall Festivals & Halloween
* Fall Festival
The North Fort Myers Community Park, 2000 North Recreation Park Way, North Fort Myers, is hosting its annual Fall Festival, 6-9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21. This is a free event.
Up to 200 children in costume will receive a free bag of safe candy after the costume contest. Enjoy inflatable bouncers, family entertainment, a costume contest, give-a-ways and more.
Local businesses are invited to set up a 10-by-10 booth decorated with a fall theme to advertise for free. Businesses are encouraged to have small give-a-ways for children such as candy, key chains, coupons, etc. The sale of items at the Fall Festival is prohibited.
The Fall Festival has drawn more than 1,500 people previously and attendance has steadily increased each year. Volunteers and donations are needed. Contact the North Fort Myers Community Park at 239-533-7200 for more information.
* 25th Annual Haunted Hike
Mike Greenwell’s Bat-A-Ball & Family Fun Park’s 25th Annual Haunted Hike is here! The Hike continues through Oct. 21, 22, 28, 29, 30, and 31. This event starts at dark each of these nights, tickets sales end at 11 p.m. The Haunted Hike is intense and intended to be scary. The General Admission ticket is $13 and the FastPass ticket is $20. There are no refunds or exchanges on these tickets. Special Event parking is $2. Greenwell’s is at 35 NE Pine Island Road.
* Halloween Bash
The Shell Factory will hold a Halloween Bash at their nature park from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 30. Free trick or treating from 10 a.m. – noon and free snow cones and a game of mini golf for anyone dressed in costume! There will also be a costume contest for children 12 and under from 12:30 p.m.-3 pm.

* Kids, adults, dogs costume contest
Fleamasters Fleamarket will hold a Costume Contest on Sunday, Oct. 30.
The contest “for kids, adults and dogs” begins at 2:30 p.m. at the Music Hall Stage
The fun starts at 1 p.m. with a performance by the Hot Flashz Dancers. A market stroll with prizes and treats will follow. Then, at 2:30, the spooktacular costume contest, with prizes for the best kids, adults and dog costumes will begin. Entry fee for the contest is $10, all proceeds benefit the Special Operations Warrior Foundation. Prizes include $100 flea dollars to spend in the market.
Kids can pick up free trick-or-treat bags (with a treat inside). Take home a snapshot from Fleamasters’ photo booth. Planning to enter the contest? Save time and pre-register online or you may also register at the event near the Music Hall stage. The registration table will be open from 1 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. Please plan to register before 2:15 p.m.

* Hoots & Hisses
Eco-friendly Halloween happenings are creeping up at the Conservancy of Southwest Florida. On Saturday, Oct. 29 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., the Conservancy Nature Center presents “Hoots and Hisses.”
Activites include a “Creepy Crawly Creatures” Animal Presentation, Apple Cider Station, Animal Encounters, Face Painting, Halloween Animal Crafts, Spooky Trail Walks, Scavenger Hunt,
Tickets are $12.50 for adults and children 12 and older; children 4 and younger free with a paying adult
