Builders Showcase opens today
The entries have been judged and the winners have been announced. All that is left is for the public to view the award-winning entries from this year’s Builders’ Showcase of Homes sponsored by the Cape Coral Construction Industry Association.
The public is invited (at no charge) to tour the eight category winning model homes and the three specialty award winning models each of the next three weekends, three days each weekend, starting this Friday. Homes will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and noon to 5 p.m. on Sundays.
“We had 19 builders and 21 models enter the Showcase,” said CCCIA executive director Bill Johnson Jr. “This year several builders did not have homes ready, so we hope to have more next year. We had a good selection of homes and it’s nice to see building come back to Cape Coral.”
The awards were announced at a dinner on Jan. 15 at Palmetto Pine Country Club, attended by 175 guests.
The public can find a list and map the location of the model homes, judged in eight different base price categories ranging from $301,000 to $701,000 and up, by visiting the website www.CCCIA.org.
“The majority of the homes are in southwest Cape,” said Johnson. “There are a few in southeast Cape and one in Fort Myers. I encourage people to take a look as all of the homes because all of the builders are members of CCCIA. We’ve had a good response from the public in the past. Generally people will make a day of it and take in several homes because they are in a close geographical area.”
Johnson said the competition was very close this year, some of the categories were decided by as little as one point.
“This year’s showcase highlights the resilience of the Cape Coral housing market in the quality of design and construction demonstrated top to bottom by every participating builder,” Johnson said. “I share the pride of our builders and the confidence for continued growth of our community.”
