CCCIA meeting to address economic development
Economic development officials from Cape Coral and Lee County are the featured speakers for the Cape Coral Construction Industry Association’s monthly membership meeting.
The meeting is set for Thursday at the Palmetto-Pine County Club, with registration starting at 5:30 p.m. Dinner is scheduled for 6 p.m., followed by the meeting and program at 6:30 p.m.
The topic of the meeting will be “Our future’s in their hands, what have they got planned?” Dana Brunett, director of the Cape Coral Economic Development Office, and Rick Michael, director of the Lee County Economic Development Office, will talk. A question-and-answer session will follow.
“It’s going to be an open forum,” Moe Beneke, executive director of the CCCIA, said.
Brunett and Michael will each discuss what is going on in the city and county, respectively.
“What’s going on. What it’s leaning toward,” she said of the governing entities.
Potential new businesses may be brought up, as well as corridor development and possible projects.
Dinner costs $30 for members and $45 for non-members. It is open to the general public.
Beneke recommended that residents with an interest in the area’s future attend.
“The Cape is just coming up as far as business goes,” she said.
“For the longest time, everything was over the bridge,” Beneke said. “Now, we’re getting to the point where we don’t have to go over the bridge.”
As of Tuesday, about 120 people had made a reservation to attend.
