‘Saxy’ night out: Sounds of Jazz & Blues March 14

Cape Coral’s popular Sounds of Jazz & Blues festival will fill the air with lots of musical entertainment at The Westin at Marina Village on Friday, March 14, and plenty of fabulous food and beverages.

Sounds of Jazz & Blues is a great night of musical selections presented by Cape Coral Parks & Recreation Department with support from a number of community business partners.

According to the Parks & Recreation special events division, gates open at 4 p.m. with the concert starting at 5:30 offering opening performances by two local bands. Headline performer Boney Jones is slated to take the stage at about 8:30 p.m.

A four-time Grammy nominee, Jones is regarded as one of the most successful instrumental artists of our time with more than three million records to his credit. James is a Soul Train Award winner with two NAACP Image Award nominations for Best Jazz Album and several other achievements. He is well known for his compelling live performances.

Tickets at the gate are $30 for general admission. A limit of 500 VIP tickets, at $50 each, are available in advance that include parking, gate entry, preferred seating and a catered meal and drinks. For tickets call 239-573-3128.

Marina Village at Tarpon Point offers stunning views of the beautiful Caloosahatchee River.

No umbrellas, animals or coolers are being allowed through the gate for this event. Festival seating chairs and blankets are welcome.

Parking is limited on the resort grounds of the Westin at Marina Village. Shuttles will operate taking guests from outside parking areas to the event site and back.
