Cape police ask witnesses in burglary cases for assistance

1 min read

The Cape Coral Police Department is looking to identify potential witnesses in several burglary cases. Recently, Cape Police received reports of a suspect stealing lawn maintenance equipment off of lawn trailers.

The suspect would take trimmers, weed-eaters and other items off of the trailers as the lawn maintenance workers were working in the back of the house. The suspect would then sell the equipment.

Cape Coral Police are asking for anyone who purchased lawn equipment from a man approaching them at gas stations or convenience stores to come forward. Those who purchased such equipment are not facing charges; they are witnesses in the crimes.

The crimes/sales occurred between May 14 and June 2. The suspect sold equipment in Cape Coral and as far away as Colonial Blvd/Ortiz Blvd in Fort Myers. The suspect was driving a small 4-door gold or silver vehicle.

If you have any information, the department asks that you contact Detective Toleman at 239-242-3708 or email him at mtoleman@capecoral.net
