Homeowner reports theft of $6,500 worth of items
More than $6,000 in electronics and other items were reported stolen Wednesday from a home in northeast Cape Coral.
Cape police responded to a home in the 1800 block of Northeast 28th Street. A woman reported that she had returned home after being out of town for several days to find her home broken into and items missing.
According to a police report, the stolen items are a princess cut diamond ring, a semi-automatic pistol, a 54-inch plasma TV, a Philips Blu-ray player, a TV stand, a Playstation III, a Toshiba laptop and a pair of Costa sunglasses.
The value of the items is estimated at approximately $6,470 in total.
Police observed that a window was open with the screen removed, a rear sliding door was unlocked and there were pry marks on the door frame.
