Three men have been charged with home invasion robbery and aggravated battery in the early Monday morning shooting on Viceroy Court, according to Cape Coral police.

Eric David Mynhier, 20, of 5204 Coronado Parkway, Cape Coral; Marcel P Young, 16, of 1915 Brahman St., Fort Myers; and Aidon Thore Young, 22, of 808 Miramar St., Cape Coral, have all been charged in the crime.

The three men could also be charged with three vehicle burglaries, according to Cape Coral Police, depending on what evidence is recovered from two separate locations.

Police responded to a call of a young male being shot in the leg approximately 5:33 a.m. Monday at 4928 Viceroy Court.

The victim, who’s name is being withheld by CCPD, said two males broke into his apartment and attempted to rob him of prescription pills.

An altercation ensued, ending with the victim being shot in the leg by Marcel Young with a small caliber pistol. The victim was also struck in the head with a small aluminum bat that police say was taken from a vehicle burglary.

The victim received non-life threatening injuries and was later released from Lee Memorial Hospital.

Cape Coral police apprehended the attackers Monday afternoon. All three cooperated and provided full confession, according to police.

Mike Tondalo, who lives on Viceroy Street, said he first heard of the alleged shooting from his parents, who live in Connecticut. Viceroy Street and Viceroy Court are connected.

Tondalo said he heard neither gunshots or a helicopter Monday morning when the incident allegedly took place.

“We didn’t hear anything,” he said.

Tondalo said the neighborhood is safe and usually quiet and he doesn’t feel threatened by reports of the shooting.

The crime scene, where Cape Coral forensics personnel were working inside the apartment, could be seen from the rear of where Tondalo lives.

The location of the the shooting is a duplex.
