Kreegel announces for 14th Congressional District
Dr. Paige Kreegel, a four-term Southwest Florida state legislator, has announced his candidacy for the 14th Congressional District. The 14th District is currently represented by Rep. Connie Mack, who is seeking the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate.
“I’ve received a lot of encouragement from people throughout the district to consider a run for the 14th Congressional District and today, I am officially announcing my intention to seek the Republican nomination,” Kreegel said in a prepared statement released today. “We’ve made great progress already, raising over $160,000, and, I am confident that we will have what we need to win in August and November.
“As our sluggish economy continues to deteriorate, government is now the district’s largest employer. We need to change that by finding ways to help small businesses innovate, grow, and create new jobs. That means reforming our tax and regulatory structure to encourage not discourage job-creators to invest in the district and its people. My experience in business tells me that we need to get out of the way of entrepreneurs and make it easier to succeed in Florida and the United States.”
Kreegel is a family doctor, citrus grower and businessman. First elected to the Florida House of Representatives in 2004, he has served as chairman of the House Energy and Utilities Committee, the House Health Care Services Committee, and vice-chairman of the Appropriations Committee.
Art Hamel of Fort Myers has been named campaign manager, Revolvis Consulting will serve as general consultants and Anthony Farhat will serve as finance chairman.
