Boy flown to hospital after near drowning
A young child was taken to the hospital Thursday afternoon after an apparent near drowning in a Cape Coral pool, according to officials.
Cape emergency personnel responded to a call at about 11:58 a.m. about a child in pool in the 300 block of Northwest 33rd Avenue. The caller indicated that it was a 1-year-old boy, according to city spokeswoman Connie Barron.
A MEDSTAR helicopter responded to the scene.
