14,812 toys collected in one day Letter Crrier Toy Drive
Letter carriers in Lee and Collier county collected 14,812 toys on Saturday, Dec. 3, to benefit Toys for Tots.
More than 75 envelopes containing monetary donations were received in Lee County and Collier County also received monetary donations. A dollar amount is not yet available for either county.
Fort Myers and Cape Coral residents still can drop toys off at any Walgreens location. In Lee County for pick up of larger items call 239-699-8121. Monetary donations can be made by credit card at fort-myers-fl.toysfortots.org . Checks can be mailed to Toys For Tots, PO Box 150393, Cape Coral, Fl 33915.

Please make the holidays brighter for families who are struggling to get by, organizers ask. The Downtown Fort Myers P.O.,1350 Monroe St. and Bonita Springs Main P.O., 26150 Old U.S. 41 are official Operation Santa Claus locations.
Starting Friday, Dec. 9, residents can register at these offices to “adopt” a needy family. Participants will be required to complete a simple application and show photo ID. Letters to Santa will be made available for your selection. Return to this location with your wrapped gifts boxed and ready to mail by Dec. 21. Postage is required to mail the Operation Santa Claus / North Pole package to your “adopted” family.
