Cape Chorale hosts guest night
Cape Coral’s own barbershop group, the Cape Chorale, announces its annual guest night to be held Monday, Nov. 7. Guests can take part in the rehearsal or sit and observe the group as it sings for fun and prepares for its next performances.
An invitation is extended to all male singers who are interested in exploring the enjoyment of acappella four-part harmony. No previous barbershop experience or musical knowledge is needed, since learning CDs and other techniques are used to learn new songs. Refreshments will be served following the rehearsal.
The Cape Chorale meets every Monday night at 7 at the Tony Rotino Center next to the Cape Coral Yacht Club on Driftwood Parkway. It is the only Lee County male singing organization affiliated with the national Barbershop Harmony Society.
Under the direction of David Barton, the 35-member group recently won two awards at the statewide district contest in Orlando. Membership is composed of men from Lee County and the surrounding area.
