The victim of a fatal single-vehicle crash Tuesday morning on Business 41 has been identified as a Cape Coral man.

At about 9 a.m., Zaymel Bosque Gonzalez, 35, was driving northbound in a 2002 Ford Mustang in the center lane when he lost control of the vehicle just south of West North Shore, according to the Florida Highway Patrol report.

The Mustang then rotated clockwise off of the roadway and onto the east shoulder, the side of the vehicle colliding with three trees. FHP reported that the front of the vehicle separated from the rear as a result of the collision.

Gonzalez was transported to Lee Memorial Hospital and pronounced dead.

According to the report, alcohol was not a factor in the accident and Gonzalez was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

The damage to the Mustang is estimated at $8,000.
