License suspended for caregiver accused of sexual contact with patients
The professional license of a Cape Coral caregiver who is accused of performing sex acts on two mentally disabled men has been suspended.
Victor Scott Stewart, 46, of 2529 S.W. 15th Place, was charged on June 7 with two counts of sexual assault lewd lascivious battery on elderly disabled adult. He has since been released from the Lee County Jail on $15,000 bond.
Stewart is a licensed certified nursing assistant, according to the Florida Department of Health. An emergency suspension order has been placed on his license by the agency. Stewart cannot practice in Florida as long as the order remains in place.
According to arrest reports, the Department of Children and Families had contacted the Lee County Sheriff’s Office about alleged sex crimes. DCF indicated that inappropriate sexual acts had occurred between Stewart and the men.
Both men, who have autism, live together in an assisted living home.
According to reports, one man told his family that Stewart had performed sexual acts on him. The man stated that this happened more than once, and that the last time this occurred was about one month prior.
The second man also reported that Stewart had performed sexual acts on him, according to the reports. He said he told Stewart to stop, but Stewart ignored him and continued.
An interview was conducted with Stewart, who denied the allegations.
Stewart has a court date scheduled July 11.
