Two charged following attack on SUV, passengers
Two people accused of smashing the windows out of an occupied vehicle remained in jail Wednesday after a judge reportedly denied both bond.
Sylvia Renee Daniels, 34, of 10725 Otto Lane, Hudson, Fla., and Anthony Davis Parker, 32, of 12020 Rebel St., Brooksville, Fla., are being held at the Lee County Jail on no bond. Both have a court date scheduled for May 2.
At about 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Cape Coral police responded to a disturbance call with reported injures at a home at 36 S.E. 24th Ave. Upon arriving, the officers met with a man and a woman who stated that they were attacked.
According to police, the woman said they drove to the home and the man went inside while she waited in the car. Moments later, an SUV sped into the driveway and blocked her in. Daniels reportedly exited the SUV and threw a brick through the woman’s back window, shattering it.
The man ran out of the home and got back into the passenger’s side. An unknown man then reportedly approached the driver’s door, opened it and demanded that the woman exit her vehicle. During this, Parker reportedly used a crowbar to smash the passenger’s side window.
Parker allegedly hit the man in the arm several times with the crowbar.
The woman told officers that she put her car in reverse, crashed into the SUV and then maneuvered her car through the front yard of the home. She headed south on Southeast 24th Avenue, but lost control of her vehicle and and crashed into a concrete pole near Southeast Eighth Street.
Both said they did not know the people who attacked them.
At about 11:50 a.m., Cape officers located Daniels and Parker at 706 S.E. 13th Court. According to police, the victims were brought to the scene and they identified Daniels and Parker as the two involved in the earlier attack.
Both were taken into custody.
Daniels was charged with damage to property criminal mischief $1,000 or more and fire a weapon missile into dwelling vehicle building or aircraft.
Parker was charged with damage to property criminal mischief $1,000 or more, battery touch or strike and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill.
During a pat down, Daniels was found to have methamphetamine in her possession. She was additionally charged with possession of a controlled substance without a prescription including marijuana over 20 grams.
According to police, Daniels admitted that she followed the victims because the man had stolen items from her a month ago and she wanted to confront him about it. She denied throwing anything or causing damage to the vehicle.
Parker reportedly told police that he smashed the windows of the car.
