Food, candy stolen from Jason Verdow Park concession stand
The concession stand at Jason Verdow Park was damaged when someone broke into it to steal candy and food, according to Cape Coral police report.
Park Manager Forrest Drummond observed the front roll-away door to the concession stand pried open at about 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.
The last time the concession stand was seen undamaged was approximately 3 p.m. Monday.
According to the police report, about $155 in candy and food was found missing. Another $87 in food was ruined when the refrigerator and freezer were left open. The damage to the roll away door is estimated at $365.
Police believe that whoever pried the door’s track open had to be stronger than an average child.
The suspect also might have possessed knowledge on how the door is constructed because it is made of interlocking strips and to make entry, a person has to know how to work with the adjacent channels.
Anyone with any information about the burglary is asked to contact the Cape Coral Police Department at 574-3223.
