New traffic pattern planned for Del Prado Boulevard
Beginning Thursday, July 22, the southbound travel lanes will shift to the east side of Del Prado Boulevard between Diplomat Parkway and Northeast 10th Street. Travel lanes on the west side of the road will be closed to traffic, reducing both northbound and southbound traffic to one lane only.
This traffic shift is necessary for crews to build the west side of Del Prado Boulevard.
This next phase of construction will result in the permanent closure of side streets at Northeast 11th Terrace, Northeast 11th Street, Northeast 10th Street and Northeast 9th Street to the west of Del Prado Boulevard.
Temporary access at Northeast 9th Terrace to the west of Del Prado Boulevard is open to local traffic as crews construct a new road at Northeast 10th Lane. Motorists are advised that left turns from side streets and business driveways onto Del Prado Boulevard are not permitted during this phase of construction.
Alternate route: Northbound and southbound motorists wanting to access Del Prado Boulevard between Diplomat Parkway and State Road 78 / Pine Island Road are encouraged to use Andalusia Boulevard.
Advance warning signs, electronic message boards and barricades will be used to assist motorists traveling through the area. Construction on this section of roadway is scheduled to take place Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Please be advised that unforeseen circumstances and bad weather may affect the schedule.
