City forwards water quality complaint to Department of Environmental Protection
On Wednesday, City of Cape Coral officials received a copy of an anonymous complaint alleging water quality violations and immediately forwarded the complaint to the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. The complaint was received in the City Council office and provided to City Manager Gary King. At King’s direction, the Cape Coral Police Department contacted the appropriate law enforcement agencies on Wednesday evening and provided all related documents to FDEP.
“As soon as we received the complaint, we immediately took steps to ensure that the appropriate regulatory agency was notified,” said King in a prepared statement relesed by the city Friday. “We stand ready to assist the DEP as appropriate.”
