IMA has new associate
Internal Medicine Associates of Lee County is experiencing an increase in their patient membership numbers. To facilitate the needs of their quickly growing clientele, IMA has recently hired doctors from a variety of specialties. Among the latest hires is Dr. Kim Schurman.
Schurman was born and raised in Fort Myers, and is a second generation physician in the area. Her father, Dr. Seth Schurman, has been a practicing Allergist here for 32 years.
Schurman completed her undergraduate degree at Rollins College in Winter Park, Fla., where she graduated cum laude with honors. She attended medical school at the American University of the Caribbean in St. Maarten, Netherlands Antilles, where she received her Master of Science and her
Medical Degree. She returned to the United States to begin her Internal Medicine Residency at Louisiana State University in New Orleans, Louisiana. Upon completion of her Residency in 2009, she has returned to her home town to join Internal Medicine Associates.
Schurman is dedicated to providing the best quality of medical care to her patients with an emphasis on preventative medicine. She is a member of the American College of Physicians and the Florida Medical Association.
“IMA is proud to have Dr. Schurman as a member of our Internal Medicine Team at our Metro Parkway office location, where she is now accepting new patients for Primary Care,” officials said in a prepared statement.
