Hallo’Tween bash attracts monstrous mobs to Captiva
From mermaids to monsters, beauties to beasts and celebrities to caterpillars, the Hallo’Tween bash at ‘Tween Waters Inn attracted hundreds of costumed revelers for the annual Halloween event.
According to ‘Tween Waters general manager Jeff Shuff, approximately 860 partygoers from across the country showed up for the event to dance the night away with one of the island’s favorite bands, The Modulators, and show off their crazy costumes.
Winning first place in the costume contest was a group calling themselves the “Voodoo Death Chariot.”
In second place was a group of islanders that had assembled themselves as a giant caterpillar.
Third place went to a couple dressed up as the infamous television reality couple John and Kate Gosselin from TLC’s “John & Kate Plus 8.”
The honor of scariest costume went to a group of attendees dressed up as voodoo witch doctors.
The title of most original went to a woman who decked herself out to look like a profile page from the social networking site Facebook.
The winner of sexiest costume went to daring woman dressed as a Las Vegas showgirl who made her way around the party on stilts.
Shuff says the event was a screaming success.
“It went great. Great costumes, nice turnout, it was a little hot but nobody seemed to mind – the beer was flowing,” Shuff said.
And just in case you missed the bash, a piece of the party is still on the islands – but only for a short while.
“If you missed The Modulators on Halloween, they’ll be playing here until Saturday,” Shuff said.
