Cape Harbour to hold ‘Water and Wheels’ event

Cape Harbour will hold its annual “Water and Wheels” event Friday, Feb. 27, through Sunday, March 1, at The Marina at Cape Harbour daily.
Showcasing a display of rare and custom boats, classic and sports cars and motorcycles, the exciting event is free and open to the public.
This extensive on-water and land display of boats and cars sets the stage for an action-packed family fun weekend event. There are galleries galore to explore, boat tours by Banana Bay Tour Company and shopping at the specialty shops and boutiques along Cape Harbour’s Promenade. Guests will also enjoy live entertainment and a world-class exhibition and competition regatta by the Cape Coral Rowing Club on Saturday.
“This is a guaranteed fun, family event,” said Realmark President Will Stout in a prepared statement. “There will be an extraordinary collection of boats and cars to please everyone, with lots of activities to enjoy. We’re really looking forward to sharing it with the community.”
Rumrunners, The Joint and Run Agrounds will be offering an array of gourmet food and drink specials throughout the weekend and Pignoli’s will be heating up its outdoor grill for its famous “Thrill of the Grill.”
In addition to the boat show and car show, guests will enjoy other activities that include live entertainment on Expo Island Friday from 6 to 10 p.m. as well as on Saturday from 3 to 7 p.m. and all day Sunday.
Bands will include Cat Man Doodz, local favorite rock band Soapy Tuna and more. The Cape Coral Rowing Club will hold its second annual Realmark Corporate Rowing Challenge at 1 p.m. on Saturday. ABOUT THE BOAT SHOWCASE
From the veteran yachtsman to the casual boater and for those who simply want to browse, the weekend will host more than a dozen major dealers. An on-water display of high performance, custom and luxury yachts presented by Allied Richard Bertram, Boaters Landing, Cape Yacht Management, Carefree Boat Club, Classic Electric Boats by Duffy, Classic Yachts International, Dolphin International, Galati Yacht Sales, Marine Max, Paradigm Yacht Sales, Saint Custom Built Boats, Walker Yacht, Whiteaker Yacht Sales and Wilson Yachts is sure to please.

Boating fans will also have a chance to meet Col. Hugh Saint. A world-renowned custom wood boat builder, Saint’s Cape Coral company designed and built Realmark Development LLC President Will Stout’s classic 38-foot Honduran mahogany runabout, “Rumrunner.” It, along with other Hugh Saint custom wood vessels, will be on display all weekend.

ABOUT THE CAR SHOWCASE
For the car lovers, a “dream showroom” of rare and classic cars and motorcycles will be on display in the parking lot adjacent to Rumrunners. Baby boomers born in the 1950s and ’60s nostalgic for the good old days, will be especially thrilled at some of the weekend’s offerings of these classic and collectible cars. And, it’s a chance for everyone to get an up close look at the decades of automotive and two-wheel motorcycle design and production, carefully restored and protected by Cape Coral’s avid collectors and car enthusiasts.
