Applicants vie for council seat

Cape Coral City Council members are in the process of interviewing nine applicants for the open District 1 council seat.
The new council member will succeed Jim Burch, who was voted to replace the outgoing Mayor Eric Feichthaler last month, in the District 1 seat.
Phil Boller, Richard Greer, Bernard Keenan, Richard Kraft, Jim Martin, Helen Stallkamp and Gloria Tate, who held the seat from 1996 to 2005, are vying for the seat.
Bartholomew Mazzara was a candidate but he has withdrawn.
