Punta Rassa Boat Ramp parking lot to close temporarily for repaving

2 min read

The Punta Rassa Boat Ramp will be closed temporarily from Tuesday, Jan. 17, through Thursday, Jan. 19, for parking lot improvements. The ramp will reopen Friday, Jan. 20, with limited parking through the end of the month.

The ramp and parking lot will be open for this holiday weekend, including Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday. Lee County Parks & Recreation has posted signs to alert boaters to the upcoming closures.

Punta Rassa is Lee County Parks & Recreation’s most-used boat ramp. Its ramp lanes and fish-cleaning station just underwent a renovation last year.

The site, 15001 Punta Rassa Road, Fort Myers, features two double ramps with a large staging area. Amenities in addition to the fish cleaning station include ice vending machine, restrooms, vehicle/trailer combination parking spaces along with single-vehicle parking spaces.

Visit www.leeparks.org for more information. Parking fees are $10 for 24 hours, $20 for 48 hours or $30 for 72 hours. Boaters can purchase an annual parking sticker online or by calling 239-533-7275.

During the parking lot project, the Lee County Parking Sticker will be honored at the City of Sanibel boat ramp just across the Sanibel Causeway from the Punta Rassa Ramp so boaters with stickers have the option to pay the bridge toll and use that ramp without paying its meter fee.
